| Every week, one of the students, postdocs, or visitors gives a presentation on a topic in experimental mechanics, which is generally, but not exclusively, the individual’s research; each group member presents once a quarter. Also, the group has a quarterly journal article discussion, when each person briefly presents a journal article and leads a short discussion on the topic. These lunchtime meetings promote exchange of technical information, advice and help on research, development of presentation skills, and group camaraderie. |
